The Alchemist
You received an envelope in the mail, containing a note and a key. The note stated, that you have inherited an apartment from a distant relative. It felt like a hoax, so you tossed the envelope in a desk drawer.
Months later in a family reunion the matter came up, and your grandparents told they had heard stories from a great uncle who had been a renowned scientist, but also somewhat a hermit and very much into alchemy – trying to transmutate lesser metals into gold. At some point he had grown distant from his siblings and had not been heard from ever since.
Now you were curious.
You booked flights and went off to find the address on the letter. When you find the right house, you come across bulldozers and a demolition crew. A gentleman in a hi-visibility vest tells you that the building will be demolished today and a glorious parking garage facility will be built on the premises.
After some negotiation you manage to bargain an hour to investigate the house, as you have after all, come a long way. The wrecking crew takes off for a long coffee break as the foreman remarks: I will bet my bulldozer you won’t find gold in that shack…
Good to know: The room is designed for groups of adults but also groupa with children. It is not scary.
For experienced players the tempo is relaxed.
